ITS VS. IT'S
It's and its are NOT interchangeable. They mean two COMPLETELY different things, so if you use them, you have to get it right.
Its "Its" is used to imply possession of something. For Example:
- Its scales are green. (Something's scales are green.)
- Its guts are falling out... (Something's intestines are falling out. Presumably a zombie's.)
The best way to think about this is to ask if the subject has or owns something in the sentence, or belongs to something..
It's "It's" is a contraction* of the words "It is." The apostrophe replaces the letter that is left out when the words are put together. For Example:
- It's pretty awesome. (It is pretty awesome)
- It's eating my brains! (It is eating my brains!)
- You can't see it because it's an SEM field! (You can not see it because it is an SEM field!)
It helps to say the "It is" out loud to check if it's right to use or or not.
*Contractions are words that are squished together. The apostrophe is used to denote the letter that has been left out. For example, "don't" is a contraction of "do not" and the apostrophe replaces the left out "o".
Hopefully, that'll help you out a bit with the difference between "Its" and "It's", don't worry if you find it a little hard to understand-- hell, even I get confused between the two! I actually got confused while writing this article, haha... Just be persistent and eventually it'll stick.

Second sentence. There's a "The", that should be a "They".
