Introduction
The world has crumbled.
The air is poison, the water bitter, and every centimeter of earth is covered in structure. A continuous city. This city extends underground, into the oceans, and even onto the oxygen-less landscape of the moon.
Then scientists took a closer look at planet KT-207
KT-207, discovered years ago by NASA's deep space object program, was categorized as "sustainable life possible."
Sustainable Life Possible
These three words became a beacon of hope.
Tests were done, the planet was surveyed, and NASA made its most famous declaration yet--second only to the announcement that there were men on the moon:
Human Colonization Possible.
The idealists, the thinkers, the desperate... they all left Earth. They left their homes and traveled for 85 years in suspended animation, dreaming, sailing through silent stars to a small golden world lifetimes away.
The first of the colonization ships arrived 100 years ago. The most recent ship arrived 5 years ago. Society has evolved, has adapted, and humans have carved out a life for themselves in the golden deserts of KT-207.
The ground is fertile, waters flood up through the sands every night, and ice rains from little silver wisps of clouds. The two-legged rock lizards have been tamed and serve as transportation, and humans hunt the burrowing birds for their flesh and their plumage.
But this fledgling society is lawless, and the size of a man's gun and the coin in his pockets often decided his influence. It is a land of violence and justice--of highway robberies and daring escapes.
The first and largest settlement on KT-207 is New Detroit. Here is where a new history will be made.
